What is this all about?

PER/FORM is an opportunity to increase awareness of the importance of Performance Based Design and to showcase the latest and most effective technologies that are making it happen, while providing a space for the community to interact and enrich itself with some healthy competition.

"At Sefaira we are all about empowering designers to realise their high performance building vision. The PER/FORM competition is an opportunity for great designers to show-case their talents in Performance Based Design, and we look forward to welcoming all the contestants and to see what great designs they can create when they combine their outstanding talents with the leading edge in building design software." - Mads Jensen, CEO Sefaira

"We're thrilled to team up with Sefaira for the PER/FORM competition. It's a natural fit combining an intuitive 3D design tool like SketchUp with the powerful analysis capabilities of Sefaira, which helps architects make critical building performance decisions early in the design process. We're excited to see what the contestants come up with." - Christopher Cronin, Business Development, Trimble Navigation

"In our practice, we find that the most effective design is found at the intersection of poetry and performance. We envision this competition as a critical opportunity to expand the dialogue dedicated to elevating design in New York City." - Jennifer Preston, Sustainable Design Director, BKSK Architects

“The Public Society is a design practice dedicated to making the world better. We all occupy buildings. They are one of the highest energy consumers on the planet. The world will be a better place when building performance is a factor from the word go and Sefaira is making that a reality. We are excited to see what architects do with it during the PER/FORM competition!” - Cristian Fleming, Founder The Public Society

"This event is a great opportunity to showcase one of the core principles of Pratt's Programs for Sustainability Planning and Development, the nexus of technology and sustainability. Sefaira is an excellent tool to bring a deeper understanding of how metrics based knowledge can push designers to build better, more energy efficient buildings." - Gita Nandan, Professor at Pratt Institute & Principal at thread collective

"High level creative energy, aided by cutting edge technology, all focused on the most pressing issue of our time holds out the promise of breakthrough ideas in architecture. I can't wait to examine the results!" - Susan S. Szenasy, publisher/editor in chief, Metropolis
